Dealer Specialties® Int, Inc. operates a mobile unit to service the new and used vehicles at dealerships on the spot, producing colorful, customized window stickers, FTC-required Buyers Guides, new car addendums, and stock tags.

For the past 10 years Dealer Specialties® Inc. has been hardfast at developing a solid system to produce descriptive window stickers for used cars and trucks. Recently, we have assigned all rights in the established business to Dealer Specialties® International, Inc. for offering this franchise business opportunity.

We believe that eventually every used vehicle will have descriptive window stickers. Federal Law requires a Buyer's Guide sticker on every used car presented for sale by a dealer. The Vehicle Equipment Listing (VEL™) section (blue & red side) is a natural extension of the “new car sticker”, and is equally important. Most salespeople who are taught to sell new cars, are advised to do a vehicle “walk-around”, using the new-car sticker to build value in their product. This same principle applies to the used car market. These window stickers should be used to build value and help salespeople at the dealership achieve higher grosses on the vehicles sold. These stickers are also a wonderful aid to the automobile salesperson who may not always remember all the specifics about a vehicle. Using our window sticker system, they will conveniently have the knowledge of their entire inventory and be able to answer customer questions such as: What size engine? Fuel injected or carbureted? Does it have cruise, air, power options? And don’t forget those “after-hours” shoppers, who walk the car lot after closing time. They will have the benefit of a “silent salesperson” building value in the vehicle, even when the store is closed!

Our sticker can be completely customized to include the dealer’s logos, custom color combinations, etc. We have 8 different sticker color combinations to choose from, and we also provide the Spanish Buyer’s Guide which is a Federal requirement for some dealers! Our system is so fast because we decode the vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) directly into the laptop computer (or you can scan it with your bar-code wand). We do NOT use any data collection units (DCUs), or input sheets since that will only slow the input process. We scan directly into the laptop computer, no double entry. We acquire our VIN decoding database directly from the vehicle manufacturer, reducing the chances of translation errors by third parties. Scanning the VIN number automatically pulls up: year, make, model, body, style, engine, fuel system, common transmission, remaining factory warranty, etc. The vehicle options are NOT decoded from the VIN, and since options can change, they must come from a visual inspection. The system will also pull up any available EPA city/highway gas mileage, as well as some favorable comments from Car & Driver®, Road & Track®, and Motor Trend®, magazines. The entire “sticker set” contains 3 parts. Only the top Laser-printed copies attach to the window. The other 2-parts are used by the dealership's office to process the vehicle after it is sold.

We have recently added a few new products to the Dealer Specialties portfolio. The first is a “Certified-style” window sticker. This product is similar to our original window sticker, yet allows even more open space for the dealership to advertise and promote their Certification programs. Certification is becoming one of the hottest topics in the industry. These programs involve dealers mechanically inspecting and giving a more comprehensive warranty for certain low-mileage vehicles. Many car manufacturers have already begun instituting their own Certification programs (i.e. Toyota, Lexus, Saturn, etc.) The second new product is the ability to calculate the actual N.A.D.A.® Book price, and print that price on the window sticker. We have established relationships with N.A.D.A., so that our software will automatically calculate their prices. The third new product is the highly requested “New Car Addendum” stickers (complete with logos & graphics) for showing added equipment, or dealer discounts for their new cars. The New Car Addendum, while not required by law, is a sticker that dealers fill out by hand for almost every new vehicle.
